I need a formal hairstyle i can do myself plz?

i am going to a wedding saturday and i wanted to know what are some formal nice looking hair styles that i can do myself. if they take time could you tell me appr. how long itd take me so i can plan it out? i have medium length(shoulderlength) dark brawn hair and bangs(if that helps)!! thanks for all the help

I need a formal hairstyle i can do myself plz?

Having a medium hair length is good because it lets you have the best control over your hair. Having short hair can limit your hairstyle and having long hair can take up a lot of effort. Anyway, if you are that desperate go for the basic bun and glam it up by buying the most sophisticated looking (yet cheap) scrunchy you can find and also make sure that it compliments your dress. Too keep it in place, put some gel and some hair pins that camouflages with your hair color. It's also nice that you have bangs that way you can just let it dangle on the side to frame your face. And if you like, you can curl your bangs and just let it fall softly on your face and you're good to go! :)

I don't really recommend hairstyles that let your hair fall such as ponytails or half-ponytails unless you went to a salon that did it for you. Because most likely, it won't give you enough control and you might feel like you want to go to the bathroom to check if your hair is still in place.

The basic bun is the best idea i can give you because it is so effortless and yet it gives you the classic sophistication for the occasion.

take a little bit of hair from the top of your head and tie it up with a rubber-band. It's sort of like a half pony tail!

braids

I need a formal hairstyle i can do myself plz?

ef u have long hair, i can give you 1001 style, and u will choes one of them

I need a formal hairstyle i can do myself plz?

while your hair is wet brush it all straight back into a smooth, tight, ponytail with a bristle brush, (or brush your bangs over to the side in front) braid your ponytail flat then rap the braid into a bun and bobypin it... its easy and elegant and beautiful.. and it only takes a few minutes!

I need a formal hairstyle i can do myself plz?

Ok this might take about half an hour (and its best to practive a few times b4)

First straighten your hair then put your hair in a ponytail (not a high one but not a low one). Then with your comb pull out for the bottom a layer of hair.

then divide the layer of hair into about 5 bits and starting at one side get a bit and start to twist t up and secure it with a bobbypin near the ponytail, repeat this with the other bits of the hair until the layer that you pulled out is all twisted and pinned near the ponytail (hiding the hairtie). by pinning the twists near the ponytail this should have pushed the hair in the ponytail up and beacuse it is straight it should have kind of a spiky fan shape to it. you can tease it a little bit or leave it hang as it is.

I know this my sound strange and you might not have understood my instructions (so sorry) but I have a photo of my hair (a view from the back) which would make it easier to understand, you can reach me on yahoo messenger bec_au2001

hot roll hair.(use setting spray). as rollers are cooling apply makeup or whatever. when rollers are completely cool, remove one roller and backcomb lightly and move to next roller. when this is complete it will probably be all over the place like you stuck your finger in a light socket. take a tuft and smooth it with your fingers in the direction you want that piece to go. put a bobby pin in the middle of it (just below first bend of curl) and flip/twist your wrist and pin.(flip/twist like the guy on the taco bell commercial) start where you want the design to be. side of head, top of head, etc. use gloss drops or something to smooth the hairshaft to make it look more polished. apply only a little or it will fall. pin in an x pattern and the curl will stay.

it takes longer for the rollers to cool than anything else. pinning time probably 10 minutes.

I need a formal hairstyle i can do myself plz?

devide your hair in half like a half ponitail but split the top into two even sides like piggy tails with half your hair do it in the back and then do messy buns with both of them wrap a few elasics close to the head around both of them after doing the messy buns (make sure to take a pain releaver after this because you will have a major head ach) then with the rest of your hair you can either leave down curled out, do a third messy bun and wrap into the top two, or you can do twisty corn rows up the back of your head and boby pin the remaining hair into the messy part with the rest of your hair. sorry if this dosent make sience but i promise that it looks cute but make sure you take your pictures sideways with this hair do becuase you look bald if you go straight on the camera (dont ask) I sure hope this works good luck and have fun!

HAWTness!!!!?

Can you give me tips to style hair like this??????????? It is for a wedding(Bridesmaids)

How can I get my hair to look like this?????My hair is naturally curly

here are the links:

1)http://pwbeat.publishersweekly.com/blog/...

2)http://cache.daylife.com/imageserve/06bg...

HAWTness!!!!?

try a hair dresser?

HAWTness!!!!?

You need to go to a salon, print the pic out if you can. They will need to wash and blow out your hair and either blow the big looser curls in with a roundbrush, or do it with a curling iron and pin all the curls to really set them. Then do a half up half down style with a pompodour.

HAWTness!!!!?

you will want to blow dry your hair straight (use a protector, like a shine enhancer activated by heat, or straightening serum that you would use with a flat iron). that will make your hair smooth and shiny (be sure to blow from root to tip, that will make your hair smoother. blowing up into the hair opens the cuticles and makes your hair less smooth).

for the first pic: take a portion of your hair and bring it up just like hers. she has a pretty big section of hair up there, but the places she took it from are key. try to emulate her as much as you can. then you want to take a wide barreled curling iron and curl sections of your hair. play with it, it should end up like that. then straighten the few pieces in front. (i wouldn't recommend this for a bridesmaid because it would outshine the bride, this should be the brides hair!)

for the second pic: i have no clue, but here is my best guess. put your hair in curlers with the front twisting back. i don't know how the back looks but i can say that the curlers will help get the look. i would suggest a large, loose bun at the neck to make it appear like that. use clear bands and tease the hair so that it hides the area where you tied it together.

hope this helps

Bad highlights...?

Hi, I had red hightlights put into my dark hair, which I dyed a even darker shade of brown 3 weeks ago in preparation for a holiday I'm going on in 4 weeks time, which is to a hot country.

Whilst at the hairdressers, the hairdresser said my hair was really dry, which made me think, I'm going to leave my hair some time to recover after this session. Problem is, the hightlighted hair isn't that nice.

It was nice for the first week, but now the "red" hightlight is orange and it's starting to look trashy!

I want to put an all over dark brown colour (at the hairdressers, I wouldn't attempt it myself) in the next few weeks before I go on holiday but, if I do:

- will it come out different colours, where my highlight have gone in

- Will a pro do this so soon after the last session

- will it get damaged further in the hot climate

- will it be able to cope as I'm in a wedding 1 day b4 I go on holiday where I will have to have my hair styled with curling irons?

Help!

Bad highlights...?

Your stylist will probably not put more permanent color on your hair without some serious deep conditioning being done to it first.

But your stylist can put on a toner that will make your hair color richer and tone down your highlights.

One of the secrets to getting better highlights that look more natural is to have the hair lightened first, then put the hair coloring on your entire head. The highlights will absorb the color just like the hair around it, but will appear lighter because its base is lighter. As it grows out, you only need to touch up the roots, then draw the color down for the last 5-8 mins to revive the head without coloring over the highlights.

Also, make sure you use a good thermal conditioner for you hair while you're on holiday. Redken makes one specifically for sun protection that you might check out. Whatever you pick up, make sure it has UV protection and is a leave-in conditioner.

Bad highlights...?

definitely go to a stylist for a consultation,....red is really hard to get out but fades the fastest (i put red in mine like 7 months ago, and you can still tell) i am sure you can at least put color all over your hair, but just talk about it first i would say.

Bad highlights...?

Red is a high maintenance color and fades quickly, hence the weird orange shade.

Unless you have a lot of money and a lot of time, I would recommend you stay away from this color no matter how gorgeous it may be.

Going dark is always better than going light and I wouldn't worry about it coming out different colors where the highlights have been as this will only add depth to the dark color you add. Without depth your hair looks too fake.

Go ahead, do it. Just condition your hair really well after.

Bad highlights...?

Just dye your hair 1 colour. It will look fine. Promise.

Bad highlights...?

Definately go to the hairdressers, as someone else said they should be able to use a toner to stop your highlights looking brassy. Use some deep conditioners before and after you have it done. Also, make sure you protect your hair when you are on holiday; if you hair is long wear it up in a lose bun so that less of the surface is exposed, you can also get spray on sun protection for your hair - Loreal make a good one that isn't greasy and makes your hair look super shiny and nice:)

Bad highlights...?

I have dark hair and have had highlights done that look too orange. You can either dye over them yourself as long as you condition it well after the colour or get it done at the salon. It will definately cover those highlights. Just condition well after you go in the sun and wear a cap/hat on the beach, it will save your skin too - Good luck

What do you think of this flowergirl dress for my two year old daughter?

http://www.davidsbridal.com/flowergirl_d...

her dad likes it and if he likes than it must be okay because he has no taste at all. (lol)

also i am putting the jr flowergirls, the flower girls, and the jr bridesmaids hair in clear and turquioise beads. they girls are young 2 are going to be 2 yrs old, 2 are going to be 4 yrs old, 1 is going to be 6, and the other is going to be 7. so they are the right age for beads. please i just want to her your thoughts if you don't like it please have a suggestion of a hair style that they all can wear, or don't say anything at all. my wedding color are turquise and silver.

What do you think of this flowergirl dress for my two year old daughter?

The dress is gorgeous. I would just be cautious...make sure your dress is somewhat similar. If you have a simple gown then that dress may be too much, if your dress has lace and beading then the flower girl dress would be perfect.

Now to the beads.....I would reconsider.. I am not sure of the girl's hair texture but if you are putting beads, I would assume that the girls are African American (just an assumption I could be wrong) if I am right, then I would do nice spiral curls (you can press their hair if it is natural) or do some nice ponytail with curls. I don't think the beads will be too flattering.

What do you think of this flowergirl dress for my two year old daughter?

I think the dress is beautiful. It will be perfect for your wedding although it may not be very comfortable for a two year old.

What do you think of this flowergirl dress for my two year old daughter?

awwwwwwwwwwwww ^_^

What do you think of this flowergirl dress for my two year old daughter?

I think that the dress is very sweet. Does it go along with the style of your dress or those of the wedding party? I like when all the dresses have a common theme. Like the lace for instance.

What do you think of this flowergirl dress for my two year old daughter?

she will look like a mini strumpet

What do you think of this flowergirl dress for my two year old daughter?

My gosh that is a beautiful gown and I think the girls will look absolutely stunning and your wedding with be absolutely amazing! Good luck and God Bless your marriage.

What do you think of this flowergirl dress for my two year old daughter?

To be honest with you, I think that dress is a bit much for a two-year-old. It looks kind of adult to me. I know I'm old fashion. I like the cute puffy dresses for flower girls so they still look like little girls. Plus, I don't know if cost is an issue, but do you want to spend that much on a dress she will wear once? My flower girls mom got her dress at Burlington and it's something she can wear again. Just a thought.

What do you think of this flowergirl dress for my two year old daughter?

i think it's beautiful. she looks like a mini-bride. is that the look you're going for?

What do you think of this flowergirl dress for my two year old daughter?

the dress is beautiful, and the beads would look nice. if you decide not to do the beads, then maybe some flowers in their hair would look nice too. your wedding is going to be beautiful!!!! congratulations and good luck with all the details!!!

What do you think of this flowergirl dress for my two year old daughter?

Honestly (and just my opinion) I think it's a beautiful dress, just not appropriate for a two year old. I personally don't think it's fair to expect such a small child to be able to walk around and remain comfortable in that. It's hard enough to get such a small child to behave during a ceremony without the added pressure of a train and heavy dress. I tried one of those on my daughter when she was 2 1/2 and a flower girl and she didn't want to keep it on. We picked out a shorter one for her. Besides, they're little girls and I wanted mine to look like the sweet, innocent child she is. Not gussied up!

What do you think of this flowergirl dress for my two year old daughter?

First of all let me say congrat

You know I don't think you need our help cause you have everything pretty plan out perfectly.

And when it comes out to the flower girl dress it looks so beautiful she is going to look like a piece of heaven of course when you come out you will be glowing too.

When it comes with the beads you know what everything sounds wonderful. I really don't think that the girls will yank off the beads.

So i wish you good luck in everything and if her dad like the dress girl then it is a keeper cause like you say a lot of guys don't have good taste a all

What do you think of this flowergirl dress for my two year old daughter?

I know this is going to sound rude but it looks like something a mexian would put on their child

What do you think of this flowergirl dress for my two year old daughter?

I was all set to say "do what you want; it's your day". Then when I saw the dress I said "yes, yes, yes". You have very good taste and because this day is so special and it's what you desire, go for it. God bless all.

What do you think of this flowergirl dress for my two year old daughter?

No. Not for a two year old, that dress is WAY too mature for a two year old.

What do you think of this flowergirl dress for my two year old daughter?

it's cute, but with the little train it looks a little too adult. I think it's really cute when the little girls feet show with cute ruffle socks and white patent leather shoes or something like that. it reminds you that she's 2, not 20

What do you think of this flowergirl dress for my two year old daughter?

it's really a nice dress...

What do you think of this flowergirl dress for my two year old daughter?

I just love the dress !! The back of the dress flows beautifully !! The hair is perfect with the beads or lace pulling the hair up. I couldn't see what the hair band in the back was made of !! You had better give your hubby a little more credit in this he has taste !!! Congratulations !! I hope everything comes off without a hitch !!!

What do you think of this flowergirl dress for my two year old daughter?

it's a very pretty dress. but im sure she wont be very confortable in it. but if you do decide to buy it be sure to bring something for her to change into later on. she might start to play a little rough and ruin it.

What do you think of this flowergirl dress for my two year old daughter?

I think the dress is a bit extreme, but if you're going for extreme, then it's great!! I think she should wear her hair down with SOME curls.. not too much.

What do you think of this flowergirl dress for my two year old daughter?

It is cute, but are you sure a 2-year old is going to be able to stand it? It looks like it would be heavy, and it will definitely be hard to walk in. I personally don't like the mini-bride thing. Nothing wrong with it, people do it, but I personally don't like it.

I think the beads idea is good. For kids that young, you want to do something simple like beads.

What do you think of this flowergirl dress for my two year old daughter?

I love that dress and chose it for my flower girl too. Congrats.

What do you think of this flowergirl dress for my two year old daughter?

the dress is every nice but maybe too mature for a 2 year old..she might get it dirty reely fast since it is white

What do you think of this flowergirl dress for my two year old daughter?

Beautiful, not suitable at all, however, for a two year old!

I usually don't wear make up unless I'm going out. And even then it's minimal. Base powder, a little blush and an earth tone lipstick or gloss.

I'm just as confident with it on or with it off.

I only just started coloring my hair. I'm a natural dark brunette, but I have recently gone a deep auburn to cover the gray.

I wear my hair one of two ways...pulled up in a half pony tail or when I wear it down I have to staighten it. My hair is naturally curly, but it I wear it down it sorts of puffs out all over.

I guess you could say I have my own style. I don't really follow the fashion trends anymore. I did when I was in school. But now I'm a businesswoman and I just dress nice for work.

GIRLS!!! plz answer...?

I wear makeup everyday. I feel more confident with it on only because i still have acne at 21. I do a more natural makeup look but if i go out i make it more dramatic. I have colored my hair for over 5 years about every two or three months normally a different color each time. I do my hair differently everyday. I like to change my hairstyle about every 6months. Fashion does play into my lifestyle but i chose what i feel best in. so i go whats in season but make it fit for my own style

GIRLS!!! plz answer...?

I wear makeup, every day (no occasion necessary), daily i use eyeliner and mascara, sometimes eyeshadow lipstick and coverup. I feel more confident when I wear it, I've colored my hair about 20 X,I wear my hair different every day, I change the style once every few months (length i mean), Im into fashion but not because of trends, just my own style. Def. have my own style kind of hippy ish but more seductive, sometimes tom boyish or once a week all galmmed up =)

GIRLS!!! plz answer...?

Yes, I wear make-up.

How often? Well, I don't always wear it at work. I don't usually wear it when I'm hanging out at home. But I always wear it when I'm going out to eat, to a club, special occassions, etc.

What make-up do I wear?

Work - Powder / Mascara / Chapstick

Night Out - Powder / Mascara / Eyeliner / Chapstick / Lip Gloss / Eye shadow

Yes, I feel more confident %26amp; better and especially pretty!

I can't count the times I've colored my hair.

No, I don't do my hair differently everyday.

No, I don't change my hair style regularly.

Looking for a specific picture of a wedding updo?

I had found this picture about a year ago, and didn't keep it (wasn't right for my hair). It'd look great in my friend's hair, though.

The picture is a profile shot of a young blonde woman. She's looking to the right and is wearing an orange-ish shirt. There's a barrette or hair pin, but no tiara. The style is pulled back and tucked under (that's the best way I can describe it) with no curls. The picture appears to be taken at someone's home...it is not a picture from a hairdresser's site and isn't on the Knot.

Looking for a specific picture of a wedding updo?

this was all i could find, but i doubt its what you are looking for

http://images.search.yahoo.com/search/im...

ETA: Did you by any chance try going back to the wedding channel boards and seeing if anyone in there possibly has it or can tell you where to find it? Thats all I can think of to tell you.

Good luck, I hope you can find it.

Looking for a specific picture of a wedding updo?

Um... did you try googling it? Where did you get it from originally- the web??

Going Blonde!!?

I'm planning on styling my hair into a faux hawk, and dying it blonde for my brother's wedding. My natural hair color is black, my eyes are dark brown, and my skin is a mildly light brown (beige). Any suggestions as to what shade of blonde, or any other color?

Going Blonde!!?

As you have very dark hair you should go to a professional salon to get it done. If you bleach it at home you could really damage the condition of your hair!

Since you have a dark complexion I think you should aim for quite a warm honey colour to complement

I think blonde would make a nice change. Dirty blonde would probably look sexy. Don't do it yourself; definitely get it done professionally.

Just don't look too sexy or you might steal your brother's bride! ;-)

Going Blonde!!?

You should definately go blonde!! With slight undertones of auburn/russet. It would go well with your brown eyes and olive skintone, and make it look more natural too. Good luck!

Going Blonde!!?

I pretty much asked this same question a week ago and everyone said I should do it, so I'm just passing on the advice.

Going Blonde!!?

With the spate of "blond" jokes around at the moment you should think Very Carefully before you take the plunge.

How about a loose bun, straighting it and leaving it done (or leaving it curly) or doing a half up half down ponytail?

Is it wrong of me to ask my bridesmaids to buy their own dresses? What about paying for their hair t

Me and my fiance are paying for our wedding ourselves, and on a tight budget. I want to know if it is inappropriate to ask my bridesmaids and groomsmen to pay for their dresses and rentals...

The guys are getting all the same style, while I am telling the girls to get it in a certain color, and have it knee-calf length... but they can get any style.

Is this inappropriate?

I will be paying for their jewelry (my gift to them) but do I also pay for their hair to be done as well as makeup..???

I have never been to a wedding, so this is ALL NEW to me!

Please help!

Is it wrong of me to ask my bridesmaids to buy their own dresses? What about paying for their hair to be done?

No honey all you pay for is the flowers they will carry and your gift to them(jewelry is always nice). They are responsible for buying their dress ( even though it is you that gets the final say in picking it out) they pay for their shoes (and coloring if necessary) their hair and make up and anything else/everything else. They provide their own transportation to your house and home from the reception. You will transport them from your home to the church to the reception.

Groomsmen rent their own tux ( even though the groom/bride will pick them out) They pay for shoes and haircuts and anything/everything else. They can expect a ride from the wedding to the reception, a flower for their lapel and a gift/token from the groom.

Is it wrong of me to ask my bridesmaids to buy their own dresses? What about paying for their hair to be done?

They usually buy their own dresses as part of tradition. However, if you are requiring them to have hair and makeup professionaly done YOU HAVE TO PAY FOR IT! If you don't care if they do it themselves then you don't have to.

In terms of jewelry as their present it doesn't really count. Jewelry to be worn on wedding day is a gift for you, not something you bought in appreciation of them.....so unless you plan on ponying up dough for some real jewels and not cheap crap from Claires you need to think of an additional gift. It doesn't have to be extravagant, even something as simple as inviting them for dinner and movie "girls night" after the wedding to say Thanks for all the time and expense they put into your wedding.

Is it wrong of me to ask my bridesmaids to buy their own dresses? What about paying for their hair to be done?

Usually the BM buy their own dresses, and as for their hair, I'd suggest allowing them to do their own--it isn't necessary for them to have their hair professionally styled.

Is it wrong of me to ask my bridesmaids to buy their own dresses? What about paying for their hair to be done?

Well, you need to consider that they may not be able to afford what you are asking. Also, consider that maybe your dream wedding maybe too much expense for you, therefore it would be unfair to expect others to foot the bill.

Is it wrong of me to ask my bridesmaids to buy their own dresses? What about paying for their hair to be done?

Every wedding I've ever been to the bridesmaids pay for their own dresses and hair. It is in a way, their gift to you. So, it is fine. Just tell them that you are letting them pick their own style so it will fit their budget.

Congrats on the wedding! I hope you have many happy years! =)

Is it wrong of me to ask my bridesmaids to buy their own dresses? What about paying for their hair to be done?

no its not wrong, your already on a tight budget for the ceremony and reception, they should be able to pay for their own dress and hair and make up and whatever else they need for the wedding.

Is it wrong of me to ask my bridesmaids to buy their own dresses? What about paying for their hair to be done?

bridesmaids traditionally purchase their own dresses and pay for their own makeup and hair. Anything that you offer to offset the price is generous but not necessary.

The only obligation you have in regards to the dresses is to keep your bridesmaids financial situations in mind when you pick out the dress.

Congrats and good luck!

Is it wrong of me to ask my bridesmaids to buy their own dresses? What about paying for their hair to be done?

I'm fairly certain most bridesmaids pay for their own dresses. Mine are. I'm buying their jewelry as well, and I've arranged for someone in my family to do their hair and makeup as well as mine (which was my family members gift to me). I don't think it's rude or inappropriate at all. Most of us live on budgets now that tradition has faded out and most couples pay for their own weddings instead of the brides family absorbing the cost, so I think it's expected.

Is it wrong of me to ask my bridesmaids to buy their own dresses? What about paying for their hair to be done?

Birdesmaids usually pay for thier own dresses ... so no, it won't be inappriopraite

Is it wrong of me to ask my bridesmaids to buy their own dresses? What about paying for their hair to be done?

That is part of the deal......They spend their money.

You buy them a gift....such as earrings that you want all your bridemaids to wear or necklace.

Is it wrong of me to ask my bridesmaids to buy their own dresses? What about paying for their hair to be done?

No. actually the bridesmaids usually pay for their own dresses now-a-days.

Is it wrong of me to ask my bridesmaids to buy their own dresses? What about paying for their hair to be done?

Traditionally the bridal party pays for their own attire.

As for their hair and makeup, you can let them know that you can book an appointment for them at XYZ Salon *if they wish to get their hair and/or makeup done* the day of the wedding and let them know how much it will cost, but it must be optional if they are paying their own way. If you can't pay for them, then you must be willing to live with self-done hair and faces.

Is it wrong of me to ask my bridesmaids to buy their own dresses? What about paying for their hair to be done?

My bridesmaids paid for their own dresses, and their hair. i paid for their bouquets. just be sure that when you pick out the dresses, its nothing outragously expensive and that they can all pay for it.

Is it wrong of me to ask my bridesmaids to buy their own dresses? What about paying for their hair to be done?

The last 2 weddings I was in, I paid for my own dress, shoes, hair and makeup. It wasn't even offered to help. It didn't bother me, I was honored to be in the wedding.

I don't think it's such a big deal to ask them to pay for their own things. It's nice if you can pay for it for them, but I also think it's understood that sometimes, financially, it just can't be done.

It doesn't really matter what everyone says or thinks though, you've got to do what is best for you. If you can't afford to pay for the dresses/hair/make up, let your girls know up front. But still ask them to be in your wedding.

Good luck and Congratulations!!!

Is it wrong of me to ask my bridesmaids to buy their own dresses? What about paying for their hair to be done?

it is absolutely appropriate to ask them to pay for their own clothes. when i got married, i told my bridesmaids to get a black dress, nothing too slutty, and kind of plain -no huge flowers, tons of beading, etc...that way everyone could choose a dress that they could wear again that fit their personal budget. and instead of tuxes for the guys, i picked a black blazer with a tie and white shirt and dark gray slacks. everyone looked nice, paid for their own clothes, and ended up with something that they could wear again. as far as hair and makeup, that's up to you. i just let everyone do their own hair and make-up--we all helped each other with it and drank champagne--it was lots of fun!

Is it wrong of me to ask my bridesmaids to buy their own dresses? What about paying for their hair to be done?

bridesmaids usually pay for there own dresses and hair

Is it wrong of me to ask my bridesmaids to buy their own dresses? What about paying for their hair to be done?

From what I know most bridesmaids pay for their own dresses. But having been to enough weddings I can assure you that I really appreciate a bride that takes into consideration the fact that I don't have a lot of money to spend on "one time dresses". (Usually the dresses are NOT my style at all so it can be annoying to spend hundreds of dollars on a dress someone else likes that I think I look like a frump in.)

The best thing someone has ever done is make an amazing compromise. Give out fabric swatches of the colour/fabric you want and a rough idea of what you want the dresses to look like and allow the bridesmaids to have a little freedom to make alterations. Nothing drastic of course but allowing them to change the neckline would make a big difference.

I know I look dumpy in halter style tops so having the option to choose a more flattering (thin strap) option made me look much better. (I'm not trying to steal the spotlight but this meant that I didn't resent having to spend $250 on a dress and the pictures don't look like a bunch of dumpy girls.)

Is it wrong of me to ask my bridesmaids to buy their own dresses? What about paying for their hair to be done?

I think under these circumstances it is completely understandable and appropriate. I had to do this with my bridesmaids too and they were FINE with it. I didn't expect them to buy an outrageously expensive dress. I actually took them both shopping together though, so that they both chose the same dresses, same color and the price was reasonable and I knew I would APPROVE and like the dresses. I think we found some beautiful dresses for like $60.00 %26lt;I had a christmas wedding - red knee length dresses%26gt;. Our groomsmen actually just wore nice suits with dark ties and we did the decorations, food, flowers etc ourselves too.

In a perfect world this wouldn't be necessarily NORMAL or appropriate to SOME people, especially if money was NO ISSUE - but I think you are FINE asking this of them and I would assume you are talking to them all so they all understand and express their complete "OK" with it too? If so, no sweat!

Is it wrong of me to ask my bridesmaids to buy their own dresses? What about paying for their hair to be done?

Nope its inappropriate at all!

For my wedding in june...

I picked out the bridesmaids dresses ( my girls are all around the same size we are have around the same taste too)

I picked them out at davids.

So they all went in at different times

and payed for their dresses at the times

that were best for them.

I also payed for the dresses

in other weddings that ive been in.

All the girls should be totally happy to

go out and get the dress you would like!

ANd im doing the same thing with

jewelry :)

Good luck girl.

Is it wrong of me to ask my bridesmaids to buy their own dresses? What about paying for their hair to be done?

Why would you expect a friend to pay for a dress of your choice which they will never wear again? They will also be expected to wear appropriate shoes. In addition, your attendants are expected to host a shower for you. As well, they have to give up at least a day to assist you in any way at your wedding

Dress $100 - $200

Shoes $100

Hair $100

Makeup $100

Travel/Accommodation $100 - $500

Shower $200

Wedding Gift $100

These are minimum charges for these items, many times the prices are much higher

Can you choose a style that is agreeable to all and have the dresses made for them? Rented for them? Have less attendants if you cannot afford to pay for your wedding

Is it wrong of me to ask my bridesmaids to buy their own dresses? What about paying for their hair to be done?

In the US it is traditional for the bridesmaids to purchase their own gown and groomsmen pay their tux rentals, however other countries have different traditions. If you are in the US or parts of Canada, then you should be fine with that portion of the plans.

However, if you want their hair and makeup done by a professional for the wedding, then you need to pay for those services for them. It's not required for a wedding. I'm offering to provide it to my maids if they wish to have it done, but I'm not requiring it.

Is it wrong of me to ask my bridesmaids to buy their own dresses? What about paying for their hair to be done?

actually it's ok

you just have to explain to them that you are on a tight budget

im sure they would understand

i love being a bridesmaid!

and i really dont mind paying for my dress and my make up

i dont mind the expense, just being a part of a wedding makes me flattered because it's a special occasion!

Is it wrong of me to ask my bridesmaids to buy their own dresses? What about paying for their hair to be done?

Like I tell everyone, we're in the noughties now, so pretty much anything goes. I have told my bridesmaids that while I would love for them to be by my side, I can't afford anything for them, as I can hardly afford the wedding. I have said that they will need to prepare themselves, and therefore they can choose their dress, shoes and do their own hair. Most girls know how to do their hair nicely, so it's not a problem really. And besides, I'm doing my hair and makeup, so if I'm not spending on myself, I'm not spending on them.

If they aren't happy with it, they will still be a bridesmaid in my eyes, but I just can't afford to look after them as well as myself. Perhaps your budget isn't as tight as mine, but I just thought I'd put in my view. I hope it's helpful. At the end of the day, if they're your friends, they will understand. I know mine did.

Is it wrong of me to ask my bridesmaids to buy their own dresses? What about paying for their hair to be done?

every wedding i have been in and that has been several i buy my own dresses my transportaion my hair nails makeup shoes everything other then the flowers and at times i have had to pay for my own jewlery

Is it wrong of me to ask my bridesmaids to buy their own dresses? What about paying for their hair to be done?

I am the same way! My fiance and I are paying for the wedding are self, with little help from my mom. My bridesmaids and his groomsmen are paying for everything on there own! It how it goes! Unless you have ALOT OF MONEY and can afford to pay for eveyrthing, then having them buy everything it was is normally expected.

I am also giving my bridesmaids the opition of comming to my house for us all to do our hair together, with two family friends who are hair dressers for a living. By no mans do they have to come or get there hair done by them, but that could be something you could do together!

Don't let this little thing get to you, there are so many more things that you should worry about.

Good Luck and Congratulations!

Is it wrong of me to ask my bridesmaids to buy their own dresses? What about paying for their hair to be done?

They are responsible for paying for their own attire. The bride and groom are not required to pitch in unless they are requiring very expensive dresses ($200-300 and up).

If you are requiring your bridesmaids to have their hair and makeup done you should pay some or all of the cost. If the hair and makeup is optional then you don't have to pay.

Is it wrong of me to ask my bridesmaids to buy their own dresses? What about paying for their hair to be done?

I had my girls pay for their own dress, but i made sure they were on sale for them i got them as cheap as possible so they could afford it. Also if you get a group rate for you hair and makeup it will be cheaper( my girls are paying for their own hair and makeup) But im paying for my moh to get her toes and nails done

Is it wrong of me to ask my bridesmaids to buy their own dresses? What about paying for their hair to be done?

The attendants traditionally buy their own outfits (and getting their own hair and make up done for the bridesmaids). If the bride and groom wish to contribute to the costs, they most certainly can, but the attendants shouldn't assume the couple are going to do this.

Is it wrong of me to ask my bridesmaids to buy their own dresses? What about paying for their hair to be done?

I thought that bridesmaids always paid for their dresses themselves unless the bride is able to afford buying everyone's dresses.

I'm having my bridesmaids purchase their own, but I'm being concious of the cost.

They should be understanding...

Is it wrong of me to ask my bridesmaids to buy their own dresses? What about paying for their hair to be done?

You are right on! They pay for the dresses. I paid for their manicures and pedicures, ( we all went together and had so much fun!) but I left them to do their own hair and make up.

It's wonderful that you are allowing them to select the style. They must love you for that!!!

Is it wrong of me to ask my bridesmaids to buy their own dresses? What about paying for their hair to be done?

First of all congratulations on getting married!!

Well my sister got married last year and she and my brother in law bought everything for the bridesmaids and groomsmen. Plus a gift for being in their wedding.

I honestly feel that the bride and groom should pay for it because it's an honor to be asked to be in a wedding. If you want those people in your wedding, they shouldn't have to pay a dime. If you're on a really tight budget then maybe you should cut down on the people in the wedding party. Or maybe have a small wedding with some family and friends and spend majority of money on your honeymoon. I would get offended if I was asked to pay to be in someone's wedding. But everyone's different. Congratulations again!!

What should I do with my hair?

Im 15 and i used to have long wavy hair but i got it cut yesterday. its short now so that when i pull it down it only goes down to my eyebrows, it used to curl above my eyebrows but go down to the tip of my nose if i pulled it down, its a little shorter on the sides than the front. I have a wedding to go to in 2 hours and i need a way to fix it or style it, i think it looks pretty bad right now. its wavy so it doesnt stay when i try to fix it. any help? thanks!

What should I do with my hair?

just put some gel on it and away you go

What should I do with my hair?

2 hours? Too late to worry about it now, Tom. I say, go for the natural look. Who knows, you might even start a new hair trend. In fact, you can claim this to have been your plan all along. Or just say, "hell with it," and wear a hat.

Advice Please!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!?

I'm 14 years old and from Bangladesh living in Atlanta, GA and I am going to a wedding next month in Texas.

Here are my outfit colors

Engagement- Yellow and Green Sari

Wedding- Green with a little silver kameez

Afterparty- Black and White Kameez

And for two other parties after I'm wearing a red kameez and an orange kameez.

What color nail polish can i use that will go with all of these outfits cause i don't want 2 keep removing nail polish everytime another event comes up.

Also what hair styles do you think would go good with each of these outfits?

FYI My hair is very straight but i can curl it to.

Advice Please!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!?

Gold Nail Polish would blend in with the Yellow, and Green, even the Black with the Gold would polish off the outfit, and include a gold Hand bag that is small, for small keys, lipstick, and small amount of money. That the best route that I have found. For the Hair style having it up in the back, with Caskading curles combed into the back would look Beautiful.

Advice Please!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!?

Silver nail polish looks good with everything, as does a french manicure. As far as the hair, it's hard for me to determine without seeing it.

Advice Please!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!?

I'd either go with a french manicure, so your nails are natural-looking, or I'd go with a red. As far as hair styles, if you don't mind keeping the same hairstyle all day, wear it up. You'll look well groomed and you won't overheat with all your hair on your neck all day and all night. Good luck, enjoy the wedding!

Advice Please!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!?

sounds like ur the one is getting married heheh kidding., just be urself girl trasparent nailpolish will sute to all colors... just bring it up and be confident.

Advice Please!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!?

Sounds like your going to a circus.

Advice Please!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!?

i wish i can help but dont know what is a kameez

Advice Please!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!?

A subtle pink or white polish would b nice

And for ur hair u r going 2 want it t b up if it is in Texas -- but add a flair 2 it

maybe braids, messy buns, classic ponytails

Advice Please!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!?

You should wear silver nail polish. And put little dots of all the colors you are going to wear. To add a little class to what you are wearing with a modern twist you should put in a pony with a little braid hanging off the side.

Advice Please!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!?

enfafement - red and white sari

swdding - dark red marun and taser

afterparty - firoze and white kameez with jardosi work

Advice Please!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!?

I think a bun at the top of your head would look good as a hairstyle, and for nails, I would do a french manicure with stones on your nails, and designs too.

Help me please?

For hair accessories and maybe some hairstyle ideas, take a look at http://butterflyenchantressdesigns.com . I bought my hair accessories there. I emailed the designer with loads of questions and she helped me through the whole thing. I didn't want the standard tiara look and ended up weaving flowers and sparkly crystals in my hair.

Wedding day Hairstyles ???

I need ideas for my haristyle in my wedding day. My hair is Meduim brown and it is a little past my shoulders. I am wearing a veil. The dress is a strapless satin A line.

Any ideas on style, highlights, e.t.c ???

Wedding day Hairstyles ???

I suggest visiting weddinglenox.com and post your request. Their matching system http://www.weddinglenox.com/f-membersign... will match you up with local vendors with pricing you specified. I tried it and have good result as I only recieved response from vendors according to my request.

One problem I had with my wedding is that it is hard to locate vendors in most website as most likely they group by states and there are too many of them that's too far from me and I have to look at each site to figure out.

The sites I provide above have a easy to use layout to show you pictures, pricing and location in one page plus, you can send out your inquiry for matching vendor to contact you. That save me lots of time to locate the best vendors with the right price.

Wedding day Hairstyles ???

Type in the search Prom hairsyles a ton of sites come up

Wedding day Hairstyles ???

get the christine aguilara coloring and an updo will look greaaat

Wedding day Hairstyles ???

You could try the flapper curls. It's very classy but natural.

Can someone find a specific picture of Liv Tyler's Hair?

I have seen Liv Tyler's hairstyle at the premiere of Lord of the Rings Return of the King, on television. Its kind of "vintage glam" style. I would like my hair similar for my wedding, but I need a good picture to take to my stylist. I can't seem to find a good shot of her hair. Can anyone help?

Here's what I found!

What style should i have my hair?

I am going to a wedding and i want to look elegant but not too over the top, which style do you suggest? thank you! :)

What style should i have my hair?

I'd say you should pull it half up with lots of curls. You could have the front of the pony fluffed up, and the back with all ringlets. Maybe some ringlets around your face too!

What style should i have my hair?

staight layers cut would be ok i suppose Report It

What style should i have my hair?

currly hairs

What style should i have my hair?

Long and straight, brushed back a little.

What style should i have my hair?

A bun or french plait is elegant, simple and is a classic look.

What style should i have my hair?

Hi ! Layered. Not any up-do's because that is what the bride-to-be should wear. Soft layers is elegant, but not over-doing it. If you want't to go a little out I would add some natural looking highlights. I would advice to go to someone you trust and know to do this , bcause trust me, you don't want to look like a clown on her wedding day!:)

Good luck!

What style should i have my hair?

Shave your hair up!thank you!

!

What style should i have my hair?

Up to reveal you neck. Womens necks are sooooo kissable! Show your neck whatever you do. Hot!

What style should i have my hair?

If you have long hair and want to look elegant, you should have it curled and then pinned up with two curls hanging down on the sides of your face

What style should i have my hair?

I think it should be put up and have curls in it

What style should i have my hair?

www.clairol.com will give you styling ideas. There is also a 'try it on' area on the site where you can download your pic and see how various styles would look on you.Have fun:)

What style should i have my hair?

How about a nice top knot with some ringlets let lose. I always loved that look. Its feminine without being over the top.

What style should i have my hair?

go to the salon and let them decide what would suit you and last the day.

What style should i have my hair?

nothing big....it's not YOUR wedding day. wear it as you normally would for a nice dinner or date or going out.

What style should i have my hair?

A preaty bun with nice chop stix

What style should i have my hair?

straight, long, black or blond hair. or leave d color that u hav.

What style should i have my hair?

depending if your hair is straight, i'd suggest a side ponytail/bun. if it's curly/wavy you may want to try 2 cornrows, and pinned in the back w/a really cute barrett. but take into consideration the type of dress you will wear.

What style should i have my hair?

simple style should be only.. wear design clips or hairpin with a cute hairband then few hair must be curly..

What style should i have my hair?

leave it down and put alot of big curls in it

What style should i have my hair?

a small bun in the top with ur hair straight down the back

What kind of veil should I wear?

I have no idea what kind of veil to wear with my dress. I have tried on many different styles and lengths. Here is a link to the wedding dress...

http://davidsbridal.com/bridal_gowns_det...

and here are two ideas of the hairstyles I am considering

and

I would love any suggestions! Thanks so much in advance!

What kind of veil should I wear?

OH MY GOD I ALMOST GOT TEARY .... that is beautifull ... oh .. wheres the kleenez ... oh my god ... that is so beautiful.......

Okay .. I love the first hair style..... I wore a tiara ..( today is my wedding anniversairy...) how funny... any how ,,, .

.. THE VEIL ..the model had on with the dress was so pretty. YOU really choose a great gown... and I love the first hairstyle.

Go with the first hairstyle .. and the veil the lady had modeling the dress ..It looks just like mine a catherdal length... with a tiera. .... boy how pretty. congrads your are going to look so pretty.

What kind of veil should I wear?

Frankly you will be beautiful.......... send a photo..... congratulations.. Report It

What kind of veil should I wear?

Very lovely. Congratulations.

I'd say go with one similar to the one in the picture, but maybe only one layer of the fine gauze. I've never liked the covering of the bride's face in modern weddings. Maybe if you went for something that sat more or less under your hair, you'll be able to show off your lovely hair-do as well.

Something very simple, so as not to outshine that very nice gown.

What kind of veil should I wear?

Oh, sweetie.....that dress is absolutely gorgeous! I am SUCH a Southern Belle (check the screen-name). A long, flowing, allll the way to the floor and beyond would look so elegant. But, since that idea is sort of out of date.....

I think a veil much like the one in the second hairstyle picture......the hairstyles in both are so pretty too....

What kind of veil should I wear?

don't even wear a veil, and chose the half up hairstyle. veils only get in the way. the hairstyle is ornate enough. very pretty dress. good luck!

What kind of veil should I wear?

The dress is beautiful! I like the veil that the model is wearing in the picture with the dress. I like the first hairstyle better with the veil and dress. That tiara in that the model has on looks pretty too.

What kind of veil should I wear?

Love the dress! So very elegant!! I like the first hair style, hair down originally showed virginity or a non married state. After the wedding the hair was to be worn up.

I think it would look gorgeous with a long veil with a blusher. Since the dress doesn't seem to have a lot of small detail I think a tiara type of head piece would set it off perfect. And let you look like the queen for a day you deserve to be.

Picture the blusher being lifted and groom getting his first look at your face glowing in happiness and love........ahhhhh. Sorry, weddings always bring out the romantic in me!

Congratulations and a lifetime of love and happiness!

What kind of veil should I wear?

i think a long veil will add more drama to your gown... any of hairstyles will look good on that gown...

here's another option for you...

my wife's wedding photo...

http://kimbowman.blogs.friendster.com/ph...

http://kimbowman.blogs.friendster.com/ph...

What kind of veil should I wear?

You dont want a veil that is going to upstage your gown. I would recommend a fingertip oe elbow length veil with a pencil edge. 2 layers.

Either hairstyle would look wonderful.... if you go with the down-do wear the veil over your hair (top of the crown) if you go with the up-do then place the veil just under the up-do.

Take whatever veil you choose to your "hair test" appointment so that you can get the full picture.

Good Luck

What kind of veil should I wear?

I would suggest a plain elbow length veil with an oval cut. It would compliment the tailored look of the bodice and not hide any of the skirt. May I also suggest the Small Cambridge Lover's Knot Tiara #TI217 from the Long Live The Marriage Couture Tiara and Wedding Veil website? I think it would go well with your dress (which is gorgeous, by the way) because I feel there's lots of movement in your skirt and there's movement in the tiara.

Need pictures please?

I am getting married in 9 days!! I am in very desperate need of some pictures of hair styles. Im thinking maybe a french braid with some curls coming down or maybe a french twist. It needs to be up as the wedding is outdoors and it will be hot. My hair is a lillle past shoulder lenght and I have bangs. Thanks for your help, Its greatly appriciated.

Need pictures please?

Try something like long, layered, and big curls.

http://www.prohaircut.com/long_haircut.h...

That website has the stuff.

Need pictures please?

go 2 google.com images n search for wedding hairstyles dere alot and cute 1s 2.

Need pictures please?

i'm thinking you should pull your bangs back because you probably wear them down most of the time and you want people to think you look different but just as [or even more] beautiful than usual on your wedding day! then you could have a bun and maybe some curls hanging from it, with rhinestones or something to add more elegance.

here's a good example: http://www.romance-fire.com/wp-content/u...
